I’m not okay.
There, I said it.
I. Am. Not. Okay.
I said it again.
It feels like the tightness in my chest released a little bit when I typed it. Except, it still feels odd to say outloud. Which leads me to this post.
Why is it not okay to be not okay?
We hear it all the time. People ENCOURAGE you to be real. Think about it. All the time, you hear people say. “I’m here for you” or ” “I support you.” However, when push comes to shove…are they really here for me? Are they here for you?
For myself today, I’m not so sure.
I’m not so sure, because when I do admit my hardships, I have so many people that shy away. I’m not talking the drama you might see on your Facebook post. I’m talking the real, raw, honest you. I find so many people who can’t handle your negative attitude. They can’t handle you being broken. They can’t handle you being real. Why is that?
Today, I encourage all of you to think about that.
Are you one of those people who shy away from people who air their dirty laundry in a conversation? Do you encourage those around you to be honest and real? How can you be the change the world needs to see?
I wholeheartedly want to hear your thoughts. I promise to be open minded to your responses.
With honest intentions,
